Philadelphia Flower Show

As a freelance designer, there are times when opportunities present themselves and you just know you want to be a part of what is being offered. This was case for Wendy when she was approached by Kris and Bill Schaffer, a very talented husband and wife team who own Schaffer designs in the USA. This dynamic duo design and build the most amazing floral exhibits for the Philadelphia flower show each year and Wendy has flown to the USA on three separate occasions to help build exhibits based on specific titles. The first one was depicting Hawaii and the stand represented a volcano. The title was “ PELI-Goddess of fire”.

The second design Wendy worked on was depicting England and the whole exhibit represented a London street interpreting the story of “Jack the Ripper”. It was an amazing concept and such a clever exhibit to be a part of.

The third Exhibit was typically American and the title was Disney. So many stands went down the route of Princesses and cute Disney characters. Wendy however helped to create an amazing stand that told the story of the very popular film “The nightmare before Christmas “.

As floral designers we are all looking to educate ourselves and working with this very talented team of like minded people in the USA certainly enhances ones creativity .
